Summary:
We are a manufacturing firm seeking a full-time permanent hot dip galvanizer. Attention to detail and good communication skills are a must. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in any of the following: galvanizing processes, order preparation, and shipping. Manufacturing background is considered an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct steel galvanizing operations and processes.
  • Abrades surfaces of metal or hard-composition objects to remove grease, paint, tar, rust and dirt.
  • Loading parts on rolling carts/wagons using forklift and/or overhead crane.
  • Operate manual and semi-automatic production/manufacturing equipment.
  • Operate Overhead Crane.
  • Mechanical aptitude and awareness - hand tools, basic hydraulics, safe operation of machines.
  • Ensure items are hung safely prior to dipping.
  • Ensure dipping paperwork is completed correctly.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are followed by all employees whilst working at the kettle and surrounding the kettle.
  • Have a strong sense of initiative and creative thinking to ensure quality products are manufactured.
  • Work well in a team environment – promoting an environment of collaboration and support.
  • Ensuring all necessary safety, manufacturing and quality procedures are followed.
  • Multi-tasking on the production line.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Track and record production.
  • Staging material in priority sequence for work orders to minimize machine downtime.
  • Inspect and measure finished work-pieces to determine conformance to specifications.
  • Assist with preparing and maintaining production equipment for operation.
  • Handle and move materials and pieces, using lifting devices as required.
  • Coordination of shipping.
  • General labour duties as assigned, additional general responsibilities will be assigned during less busy times.
