We are looking for our next Full-Time Hotel Accountant to join the ibis Styles team.
Job Description

Due to an internal promotion this rare role has come up and reports directly to the Financial Controller. It is supported by a Senior Finance Officer. Given our unique hotel composition, this role is not your typical Hotel Accountant role and is heavily operationally involved! Main responsibilities include:

  • Monitor and control the cash flow for the hotel
  • Preparation & checking accuracy of all financial information sent to key stakeholders
  • Accounts Payable processing & management ensuring accuracy of expense coding
  • Fortnightly payroll for the hotel & chair payroll meetings
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensure all legal and tax compliance reporting is completed within required timeframes
  • Engage with Department Managers to develop effective measures to enhance departmental & hotel profitability
  • Weekly, monthly, quarterly reporting
  • Prepare and post month end journals
  • Assist the FC with budget preparation and audit requests

Qualifications

Hotel accountancy or Hotel finance experience will be highly regarded, or in the absence of this, a variety of accountancy experience in different industries.
You need to have an eye for detail, and also want to look for ways to improve our operations and processes. You will love spending time with our fun department head team, and enjoy building those relationships of trust and respect.
You’ll have a head for business and be able to look for innovative solutions to problems the Department Heads come to you with and use your influence to achieve favourable outcomes for all.
