Description:
The Housekeeper works to ensure offices, patient/guest rooms, and other specified areas are kept in a clean and orderly condition. The position relies on established guidelines to accomplish tasks and works under close supervision.
- Cleaning of Clinical & Non-Clinical Areas
- Assigned work areas are cleaned, sanitized, supplied and maintained in a neat and orderly manner meeting environmental standards. Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.
- Completes all environmental services tasks, dust mopping, wet mopping, vacuuming, strip/scrub, refinishing, shampoo/extraction and delivery of clean linen according to procedures.
- Completes removal of soil linen and disposal of trash according to established procedures. Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc., in resident rooms, recreational areas, etc., daily as instructed. Clean, wash, sanitize and/or polish bathroom fixtures. Ensure that water marks are removed from fixtures. Clean windows/mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms and entrance/exit ways.
- Sanitation
- Follow proper techniques when mixing chemicals, disinfectants and solutions used for cleaning. Refer to manufacturer’s instructions when necessary. Demonstrates an understanding of policies and procedures in all areas of Environmental Services
- Demonstrates attention to detail, quality of linen and supply par levels of assigned work areas.
- Follows infection control procedures at all times.
- Other Duties as Assigned
- Notifies supervisor in matters of uncertainty or situations outside of the normal workflow.
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 60 pounds.
- Assists with the secure operation of the nursing home by immediately reporting any unusual occurrence to the Environmental Services Supervisor or to Security.
Education - High School Diploma or equivalent
