  • A keen eye for detail and commitment to maintaining high cleaning standards.
  • Ability to work comfortably at heights, in confined spaces, and manage the physical demands of the role, including moving furniture and equipment safely.
  • Previous experience in a residential care home is a plus.

Responsibilities:

ROLE OVERVIEW:

As a Housekeeping Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and tidiness across all areas of our nursing home. You will perform a variety of housekeeping tasks and maintain respectful and supportive relationships with residents.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform various housekeeping tasks, including cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, polishing, and mopping of all areas including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, living spaces, windows, and refuse disposal areas.
  • Manage domestic and hazardous waste disposal, ensuring bins are collected, cleaned, and maintained hygienically at all times.
  • Handle spillages promptly and display appropriate safety signage.
  • Adhere to infection control policies, keeping up-to-date with best practices.
  • Report and document any issues with the premises, equipment, or any concerns affecting service standards.
  • Promote and uphold person-centred care values.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to create a cheerful, welcoming, and homely atmosphere for residents.
  • Assist management during audits and inspections as required.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends.
