Description:
The Barrie KOA is currently looking to hire individuals in our Housekeeping department who have a passion for cleaning, organization and attention to detail. Working to maintain our 22 on-site cabins required you to be able to work in a fast paced environment while offering a strong work ethic, and seeking an opportunity that provides individual growth. We will have opportunities for Housekeeping Team members to work a day shift, on a rotating schedule throughout the summer season.
Position Summary: The Housekeeping Team Member is responsible for cleaning and organizing all on-site accommodation. These team members will maintain a high standard of cleanliness and attention to detail while working in a fast paced environment. This role also includes completing basic cleaning duties throughout the campground.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Have experience or express interest in this field.
- Possess strong leadership and communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Speaks the English language fluently. French would be an asset.
- Applicants must be able to complete mandatory training in April, prior to season start.
- Must be able to work Sunday - Friday, May - October.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work in all weather conditions both indoor and outdoor.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 30lbs
- Be able to be on their feet for a full shift, 4 - 6 hours or more.
- Long periods of standing, bending, and kneeling.

Responsibilities:
- Provide superior customer service, by being enthusiastic, attentive, friendly and helpful.
- To contribute to the organization and operation of an efficient and smooth functioning Housekeeping team by following all KOA guidelines and procedures.
- Work well in a team environment, or independently, accepting instruction from supervisors and managers on duty.
- Clean all accommodations after guests check out in an efficient and timely manner.
- Go through and follow all the steps provided in training to have each cabin back to proper order.
- Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas. Comply with all local, provincial & federal restrictions.
- Report all guest or maintenance problems, requests or complaints to the owners, campground manager or shift supervisor, and follow-up to resolve the issue if possible.
- Ensure that all cleaning products adhere to our safety standards.
- Ensure there are adequate supplies for forthcoming days.
- Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of cleaning supplies and cleaning golf cart, as well as the main store, laundry room, recreation hall and washroom facilities.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Campground Owners/Manager.
- Comply with all federal and provincial safety programs by adhering to established guidelines as set out by Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations as they relate to the workplace ensuring your safety, as well as that of fellow staff and campground guests.
