Housekeeping Technician (Home Services) - Full-Time - Days

POSITION SUMMARY:

• This Housekeeping Tech position is a part of the Home Services team which provides Residential Living clients with paid services such as housekeeping, light food preparation, assistance with errands, etc. This position is primarily responsible for the general cleaning and floor care in private resident apartments as well as some public spaces and guest rooms. Housekeeping Technicians may be cross-trained to support Supportive Living areas as well as Laundry.

WORK SCHEDULE:

• 7:00AM - 3:30PM, Monday-Friday, with rotating weekend (Saturday-Sunday) typically every 7 weeks. Time off is usually provided when scheduled to work a weekend.
• 80 hours per pay period (every 2 weeks)
  Requirements:
  As a condition for employment, VMRC requires all employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. If selected for a pending job offer, the candidate will be required to receive the COVID-19 vaccination(s) or provide proof of prior COVID-19 vaccination(s) before the date of hire.

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the basics of the English language and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, reach, lift, carry or handle light weight (1-25 lbs.) materials or equipment frequently.
• Requires occasional physical effort with medium (25-60 lbs.) and heavy objects (over 60 lbs.).
• Works in reaching or strained position for about half of day.
• Ability to perform the duties listed in the job description with limited supervision; self-motivated with ability to schedule time wisely and accommodate changes.
• Must enjoy working with people, have a pleasant and professional personality, and be able to interact tactfully with others.
• Ability to work quickly and carefully in a safe manner, and motivate others to do the same.
• This position does require a current Virginia Driver’s License with acceptable DMV driving record to obtain authorization on the VMRC Approved Drivers List (if required to drive a VMRC vehicle).
• Fluency in a second language is a plus.
