PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Familiarity with housewares products and trends.
• Experience with point-of-sale systems.
• Basic math skills for cash handling.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to regularly lift at least 50 lbs.
• Standing: Up to 8 hours per day.
• Walking: Up to 8 hours per day.
• Reaching: Up to 4 hours per day.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

• Independent and reliable local travel 50% of the time.

• Experience in working with houseware items and knowledge of merchandising
• Previous experience in retail or customer service preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to work various shifts including mornings, evenings, and weekends
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Able to travel to various store locations

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Mollie Stone’s Markets has an immediate need for a Housewares Clerk at our San Bruno location. The Housewares Clerk is responsible for assisting customers in the housewares department, maintaining inventory, and ensuring that the sales floor is well-organized and stocked. This role involves providing excellent customer service, offering product knowledge, and promoting sales of housewares items.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Greet customers and assist them in finding products.
• Answer questions about merchandise, prices, and promotions.
• Provide recommendations based on customer needs.
• Stock shelves and ensure displays are attractive and well-organized.
• Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies to management.
• Assist in receiving and processing incoming shipments.
• Promote sales and special offers to customers.
• Process transactions at the register accurately and efficiently.
• Keep the housewares area clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow all store policies and procedures related to safety and security.
• Participate in regular inventory audits and store cleanliness initiatives.
• Assist in setting up promotional displays and signage.
