JOB SUMMARY:
Community Roots Housing is looking for a Housing Development Associate to join the property development team to support the advancement of multiple development projects from concept to permanent finance conversion. The position involves working on discrete tasks and includes activities related to site identification, due diligence, acquisition, pre-development, community engagement, scheduling, selection and coordination of project teams, design, financing from public and private sources, construction administration, and close-out. The successful candidate is expected to work as part of a team under the direction of the Development Manager and to lead on specific elements of their projects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA degree in finance, public administration, planning, engineering, architecture, real estate, or related field (related work experience may be substituted);
- Desire to learn and grow in affordable and workforce/middle income housing development work;
- Strong financial acumen and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
- Demonstrated ability working in a team and collaborative environment;
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Experience working in diverse groups;
- Commitment and conviction to serving the mission and goals of the organization.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in affordable housing and/or real estate development;
- Master’s degree;
- Familiarity with/connection to Seattle neighborhoods.
