WAGE: $22.50 – $26.30 per hour
JOB SUMMARY: Catholic Charities is seeking a compassionate, trauma-informed, culturally aware individual to work as a Housing Intake Specialist at our Higher Ground St. Paul location.
Works closely with Property Management to ensure vacancies are filled. Ensures applications and residential processes are followed, and residential data is accurate. Schedules and coordinates orientations for new residents. Assists with move-in and move-outs to facilitate timeliness and follows-up with clients about the residential process.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERTISE
- Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience in housing program management/development.
- High level proficiency in Yardi, Credible, and Sharepoint
- Expertise in best practices with finance/billing, client record management, and data analysis systems
- Ability to work with diverse and/or low-income populations, including those who may be experiencing homelessness, unstable housing, and/or mental illness required.

Responsibilities:
- Works with Coordinated Entry to obtain referrals for all vacant units.
- Make appointments and show apartments.
- Assists applicants with the application process by explaining all applicable forms. Ensures applications are accurate and complete and verifies applicant eligibility.
- Conducts criminal background checks for applicants. Notifies rejected applicants immediately in writing.
- Submits completed applications to property manager for approval.
- Prepares all tenant files to include all required paperwork.
- Inspects vacancies before move-in and schedules and conducts orientation for all new move-ins.
- Assists with move-in and move-out procedures including unit inspections.
- Completes recertifications as required by the program.
- Enters client information into a variety of databases in accordance with the program requirements.
- Follow up with Clients to understand successes and failures.
- Coordinate/mentor with other Housing Intake workers and Navigators to maintain best practices for client success.
- Ensures accurate reporting.
- Other duties as assigned.
