Overall job purpose
- In line with the requirements of Part 2 of the Housing (Wales) Act 2014, to take action to prevent or relieve homelessness as early as possible and achieve practical solutions by providing timely interventions, comprehensive housing advice, information, and advocacy.
- Where homelessness cannot be prevented, to investigate and determine homelessness applications in accordance with the legislation, having regard to case law, statutory guidance, best practice and departmental policies and procedures.
- Responsible for preventing and resolving homelessness and advising, supporting and informing those in housing need. Additionally, assess, advise and assist customers under relevant housing and homelessness legislation through a number of approaches, which includes over the telephone, face to face, within multi-agency meetings and over email / letter correspondence.
