The Opportunity
Reporting to the Housing Services Team Leader, the Housing Service Advisor is responsible for the delivery of a first response customer service in line with the National Housing Service Standards. This role will be responsible to work as a multi skilled team member of a busy customer service department assisting with key duties including customer service, allocation and vacancy coordination, annual rent reviews, initial assessment and planning services, housing establishment services, reception duties and other administration as required by the business. The role will act as the initial source of advice for residents and other customers, dealing with enquiries regarding all of our services. This role is expected to develop both a strong understanding of our clients and knowledge of our Housing Services. This role also provides a development pathway to other positions within Housing Choices.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

You should have a sound knowledge, or desire of, working within the community housing sector or a similar field.

Experience

  • Experience in handling queries and complaints via phone, email and general correspondence
  • Experience in managing office supplies, organising travel and event coordination both(E) internally and externally (E)
  • Experience in a customer service role (E)\
  • Experience in dealing with complex customer needs (D)
  • Previous administrative / reception experience (E)
  • Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (E)
  • Capacity and attitude to learn and improve in the role
  • Proven experience and successful track record in a comparable role or discipline(s) in the public/community, private housing sector or transferable sector

Skills

  • High attention to details (E)
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills and relationship management skills (E)
  • Well-developed organisational skills including ability to manage conflicting priorities without affecting quality of service delivery (E)
  • Accurate and efficient data entry skills (E)
  • Knowledge of the income support system for people on very low incomes (D)
  • A high competence of numeracy and literacy (E)
  • Ability to display sensitivity, discretion and diplomacy in interaction with others (E)
