Successful experience in providing strong, decisive leadership and management of one or more of the following

- Participate as an active member of Council’s Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
- Experience in developing an Organisational Unit and contributing to Council’s strategic management including needs analysis, strategic and operational planning, performance frameworks, and the development of appropriate policies and systems.
- Experience in implementing successful change and continuous improvement to build our reputation as an employer of choice and a high performing Council.
- Participate in the review, development and improvement of work systems and practices to enhance customer service and meet customer needs in an accurate, responsive, timely and courteous manner.
- Ability to provide effective people management and leadership skills with a commitment to high standards of performance, building workforce capability, a strong positive work environment, and a workforce culture consistent with Council’s vision, mission, and strategy.
- Competence in the effective management of human, financial, physical, and other resources to achieve Council’s business objectives.
- Experience in building and maintaining positive working relationships while representing and promoting a critical service delivery function within the business sector, other local authorities, government agencies and broader environment.
- Plan, execute and complete programs and projects relating to areas of accountability, within set timeframes.
- Manage the Human Resources Directorate budget and advise the Chief Executive Officer on progress against budgetary expenditure in areas of financial responsibility.
- Ensure records are maintained in accordance with legislation, information standards, and other relevant guidelines and procedures, and ensuring records are captured in the authorised recordkeeping system.
| ESSENTIAL EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS |
- Tertiary (degree level) qualification in a relevant field and/or extensive demonstrated experience in areas of responsibility.

Build the human and work health and safety capabilities of the Council, fostering a high performing culture, and continuously improving people, safety and organisational development functions. Provide strong, decisive leadership, guidance, and support to the Human Resources and Work Health and Safety Directorate. Provide high level support and advice to the Chief Executive Officer, all people leaders, as well as the Executive Leadership Team as a whole.
Employment Type: Executive Contract - Full Time, Limited Tenure (5 Years)

Remuneration Package: Up to the value of $181,565.00 per annum
