KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Attained or working towards CIPD Level 5 qualification or above (or suitable equivalent).
  • Solid HR experience some experience gained at advisory level and/or within a professional services environment preferred but not essential.
  • Experience of providing advice on a broad range of HR policies and procedures, with a demonstrable track record of delivering sound solutions to HR issues within the relevant legal and procedural frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - experience of dealing with staff at all levels including Senior Leaders and Directors.
  • Able to build trust and confidence with colleagues by delivering on all agreed actions and providing first class advice and support.
  • Experience of working in a busy environment, an understanding of the importance of deadlines and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Confidence in working with HR systems (data input and analysis) and providing systems advice to management and staff.
  • Excellent IT Skills including MS Office (Word, Excel in particular)
  • A self-starter - self-motivated, proactive, inquisitive, and able to act on own initiative.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for an experience HR Advisor to join our HR team in Nottingham on a 12 months FTC covering maternity leave.
Working with a dedicated and supported HR team you will help to support the delivery of high-quality core people processes and initiatives for the business. You will be responsible for providing advice and guidance to employees and managers on a variety of HR-related matters, including company policies, procedures, and best practice, building effective working relationships with all parties.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To deliver a professional, customer focused HR service, dealing with day-to-day queries (not already dealt with via the HR inbox) on all HR related matters.
  • Liaising with the HR Operations team on a variety of matters including, employee changes to terms and conditions, probationary periods, time off requests, occupational health, HRIS, payroll, etc to ensure accurate records are maintained and relevant action is taken in a timely manner.
  • Actively working with line managers to provide guidance, general coaching and support on day-to-day management issues and challenges, including, but not limited to employee well-being, absence management, performance management, employee development, disciplinary and grievance, etc.
  • Conducting exit interviews with leavers, ensuring that follow up actions are taken as necessary.
  • Working collaboratively with the other HR Advisors to even out the workload across the team, share ideas, and provide support to one another.
  • Seeking support and advice from the Head of Business Partnering as required, keeping them updated regularly on progress.
  • Taking personal responsibility for the delivery of project work, and supporting the HR Management team on project and development activities across the company
  • Attending departmental meetings and supporting the wider HR team as required
