Description:
This is a generalist Human Resources Advisor role, supporting designated client groups/areas as well as providing wider support to the team where required. The main areas of responsibility will be resourcing, reward, employee relations and other operational activities. There will also be opportunities to support HR initiatives and projects across the team.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Work closely with designated client groups to identify people issues and provide day to day support through best practice solutions, advice and professional expertise, escalating more complex matters to Senior HR Advisors/HR Business Partners
- Ensure all HR queries are dealt with promptly and reliably
- Use key management information/metric and knowledge of the business to focus solutions effectively
- Equip and coach managers in the skills and knowledge to effectively manage people issues in line with business plans
- Provide support to HR Business Partners/Senior HR Advisors on people matters across the employee lifecycle
- Ensure consistent application of policies and procedures
- Support the Senior HR Advisors/HR Business Partners with various investigations, including disciplinary, grievance and capability matters
- Notify our Payroll HR Systems & Ops teams promptly of any employee changes within the employee life cycle
- Provide advice guidance to those taking any period of family friendly leave, i.e. maternity, paternity, shared parental leave and surrogacy/adoption leave, drafting any necessary paperwork
- Proactively manage short absence levels and long-term absence cases, where required, referring appropriate cases to Occupational Health
- Advise the business on flexible working requests, ensuring procedures are adhered to
- Assist HR Business Partners with the annual salary and bonus review process
- Draft Intention to Hire forms for role approvals
- Assist with the recruitment processes, where necessary in partnership with the Talent Acquisition team
- Ad hoc production/ amendments of job descriptions
- Conduct interviews with hiring managers/Partners (excluding senior hires)
- Proactively participate in HR projects
Person Specification
- Previous generalist HR experience, ideally within a professional services firm
- A sound understanding of employment legislation and a desire to keep up to date with upcoming changes
- Professional manner with the ability to work collaboratively across the firm and the HR team
- Good judgement and initiative to solve problems pragmatically and commercially
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively influence
- Ability to balance competing priorities and manage a workload with tight deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and organisation skills
- A focus on delivering a high-quality service to internal and external stakeholders
- CIPD qualification is desirable, but not essential
