HR ADVISOR – JOIN OUR TEAM AT BUREAU VERITAS!

Location: Manchester (M22 5PR)
Hybrid Working: 2 office days per week
Are you passionate about supporting employees, driving business success, and shaping HR strategy? We’re looking for a talented and motivated HR Advisor to join our dynamic HR team and make a real impact across the business.
As a key part of the HR team, you’ll work closely with the HR Business Partner to provide tailored HR support and advice to line managers and employees. You’ll help drive best practices in employee relations, performance management, and business change while ensuring compliance with legislation and company policies. From supporting managers on performance issues to handling employee relations matters, you’ll be involved in a wide range of HR activities that directly contribute to our success.

Experience: Solid HR experience, ideally in a large, multi-discipline environment, with a focus on employee relations, performance management, and HR systems.

  • Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and coaching skills. A proven ability to build relationships at all levels, think commercially, and deliver HR solutions effectively.
  • Knowledge: Up-to-date understanding of employment law, HR best practices, and the TUPE process.
  • HRIS Proficiency: Experience using HRIS systems (SuccessFactors experience is a plus) and data analysis skills.
  • Qualifications: Ideally a degree or equivalent, and HR qualifications such as CIPD L5/L7.
  • Personal Attributes: A solution-focused mindset, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to challenge constructively and show empathy in people-focused conversations

Responsibilities:

  • Employee Relations: Act as the first point of contact for managers, providing advice on absence, performance, grievance, disciplinary, TUPE, and redundancy matters.

  • Performance Management: Support managers in addressing underperformance, coaching on change management, and helping align employee performance with business goals.

  • Policy & Compliance: Ensure policies and procedures are followed, providing support on key employee topics and helping mitigate potential issues.
  • Casework Management: Support and manage employee relations casework, from sickness absence to welfare and performance improvement plans.
  • HR Systems & Data: Maintain accurate employee data in SuccessFactors and support digitalization initiatives for people processes.
  • Training & Development: Promote continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures, and best practices, ensuring employees and managers stay informed on the latest developments in HR.
