WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
We’re looking for someone with:
- A strong background in HR with a good understanding of best practice and HR systems and procedures in a fast paced environment.
- Proven experience in employee relations and conflict management.
- CIPD Level 4 (or equivalent qualification) and up-to-date knowledge of employment law.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and influence others.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset and a passion for fostering a positive workplace culture.
- Experience in the health and social care sector (desirable but not essential).
- A team-oriented mindset, able to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a busy team.
- Adaptability and flexibility to manage changing priorities.
- Detailed knowledge of computerised systems, Google docs and numbers and ideal but not essential

HR ADVISOR ROLE

As HR Advisor, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our employee life cycle, providing efficient and effective support to employees and managers in all areas of people management while driving key HR initiatives. You’ll bring clarity, fairness, and leadership to every situation, supporting a team dedicated to transforming lives by helping children with Special Educational Needs excel and making the schools we support great places to work.
The role is Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week and an on site role, salary £30k + depending on experience.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
As HR Advisor, you’ll be at the heart of our employee relations work while overseeing other key HR functions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring consistency, compliance, and fairness in all employee relation processes.
- Supporting managers and employees with best practices, legislation, and company policies.
- Working with the recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives to support a high-performing team.
- Collaborating with the HR Manager to align HR strategies with organisational goals.
- Championing leadership development and succession planning across the organisation.
- Driving initiatives that promote employee wellbeing, engagement, and inclusion.
- You will contribute to the design of technology-enabled people practices. Continuously reviewing the impact of technology on roles and people processes.
- Support line managers by providing advice and guidance across the Group to ensure they fulfill the people management aspects of their role with openness and transparency and in accordance with our values.
- Provide advice and guidance that is consistent and fair across people management decisions and actions aligned with all values, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure customer expectations are managed effectively through timely and effective communication.
- Promote best practice across the business, presenting People matters concisely ensuring managers implement People policies and practices.
- Produce accurate data entry and other written communication
- Confirm changes in salary and benefits to the employees and updating their T&C’s. Issuing relevant correspondence to employees (letters and contracts)
- Communicate with the finance team on the Payroll Process
- Ensure all employee data is processed accurately.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in People records.
- Work on the People and Payroll process accurately and independently, offering up process/system improvements.
- Manage onboarding: process new starters, produce contracts, and update the HR system.
- Handle offboarding: process leavers, conduct exit interviews, and maintain leaver trackers.
- Manage absence processes and liaise with managers to address absence issues.
- Respond to queries in the HR ticketing system.
- Communicate effectively with operational staff across the business to ensure smooth HR processes.
