From 12 UK sites, our team of over 1,400 people deliver unique capabilities across air, land, sea, space and cyber for military, security and commercial customers, worldwide.
L3Harris in Tewkesbury is part of our ICI division, we work closely with UK Government and Security Agencies primarily in the areas of crypto/cyber security, electronic warfare, counter drone capabilities and situation awareness projects.
The HR Team are seeking a confident self-starter who is capable of leaning into all areas of HR, learning how to deliver great service to our stakeholders and providing an exceptional service to our employees.
The role would support all administration and coordination needs of a busy HR team in the first instance, taking the tasks and putting their own spin on things where efficiencies and better delivery can be found. However, we would be looking for this role to grow and develop to become a confident HR Advisor, and in time HRBP. This would require someone who can maintain status quo with transactional work, support client groups, lead training, execute large scale programmes and deliver on projects.
We are looking for someone who wants to build a truly generalist career in HR, ticking all boxes from advising and guiding to supporting the growth of our talent. This role would be matrixed, reporting into the Head of HR but delivering for global stakeholders both internal to HR and within the Business Units.

Responsibilities:

WHAT THE ROLE WILL INVOLVE

The responsibilities of your role will include the following:

  • Basic understanding of UK employment law and being comfortable interpreting policies
  • Comfortable with working with process and automation
  • IT savvy – confidence in moving between different systems and guiding employees to use different systems
  • Confidence in responding to email queries, also checking in with the policies and department leaders when uncertain
  • Being a self-starter – the department is busy, at times with individual will be left to deliver a brief independently and will need to make sure they have the check ins with the relevant leader to review progress and outputs
  • Pride in accuracy of data in our HR Information Systems
  • Training and supporting individuals with new and existing HR systems
  • Ability to interpret data would be an advantage
  • Confidence in talking to people face to face
  • Be an advocate for expert customer service as this role will be front facing for the HR department
  • Enthusiastic approach to go above and beyond for our business, putting the employee experience first

The role of HR Advisor requires the following experience and skills:

  • Experience or qualification/degree in relevant subjects
  • Prior experience in an entry level HR role would be desirable
  • Ability to effectively present information to employees at all levels of the organisation
  • Good MS Office skills
  • Able to competently capture meeting minutes
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality in line with policy and GDPR
  • A self-starter committed to delivery and personal development of self and team
  • Emotionally resilient, highly flexible and a naturally inquisitive individual
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced team
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verba
