WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are currently looking for a new HR Advisor (internally known as People Advisor) to join our HR & Payroll team at Cambridge Education Group.
You will support the Senior People Partners by providing HR advice across Cambridge Education Group, with a focus on their key area of the business. This will involve working closely with managers and team members to provide professional, high quality customer focused advice, guidance and support in relation to HR policies and procedures, employee relations issues and organisational change.
We are an agile organisation, which doesn’t shy away from change, therefore the successful candidate will be confident in managing change and comfortable with adjusting their approach to reflect shifting priorities.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR:
- Experience providing professional, pragmatic HR advice and support on employee relations issues.
- Experience advising managers and team members on HR matters.
- Experience working in a fast paced, evolving company.
- Excellent ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships.
- Identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Good numeracy skills and ability to understand data and information quickly.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills; confident to liaise with people at all levels.
- Self-motivated, driven, able to work on own initiative to prioritise own workloads effectively with minimal supervision.
- Effective problem solving skills.
- Commitment to success and delivery against agreed objectives and targets.
- Exceptional time management & organisational skills, has the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office.
- CIPD accreditation and/or Degree or equivalent is desirable
Application end date is the 2nd of October, with the interviews being held on 8th of October.
The role is on a full-time, permanent basis with the location in Cambridge, United Kingdom. We operate on a hybrid work pattern where 3 days per week can be worked from home.

Responsibilities:
- Supports line managers with employment practises and interpretation of policy by coaching, advising and guiding.
- Manages employee relations issues in a professional and efficient manner, i.e. performance management, absence management, disciplinary, grievance matters etc.
- Develops and delivers learning and development sessions regarding people management practices.
- Assists with the pay review & bonus process for the designated area.
- Assists with the recruitment process.
- Supports to ensure compliance with relevant UK and international employment laws and regulations, staying up to date and current with changes, proactively escalating any risks or issues and supports with solutions to mitigate them.
- Ensures team members absences are recorded and supports line managers with managing absence concerns, including advising on best practice with return to work interviews, and liaising with Occupational Health where necessary.
- Reviews exit survey results, summarises the findings and suggests appropriate actions to ensure we make CEG a better place to work. This may include undertaking exit interviews where appropriate.
- Ensures the HR system is maintained with support from the Central Team.
- Supports the delivery of HR projects, including contributions to the development of policies and procedures.
