Holiday – 23 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays) increasing by one day per each year of service (up to a maximum of 28 days) (Pro rata for part time staff)
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- minimum of 2 years’ experience working in an HR advisory level role
- experience of working in a HR Consultancy environment would be a distinct advantage
- CIPD Level 5 qualified or currently studying towards it
- good UK employment legislation knowledge
- some experience of leading on and managing complex employee relations matters
- experience of breatheHR and CCH software would be advantageous

ABOUT THE HR ADVISOR ROLE

We’re business advisors and accountants, with over 30 years of experience we’ve honed our skills and developed our service offering to deliver a much wider range of bespoke support and advice to ambitious business owners and their businesses.
Due to rapid growth, we now have an exciting opportunity for an HR Advisor to join our client services HR team in Portsmouth on a part time basis.
Working closely with the HR Business Partner and the HR Assistant, you will be supporting a variety of clients providing wide-ranging HR advice and support via email and telephone mainly. You will also be involved in the onboarding of new clients and the monthly client billing process. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands on experience within a fast paced environment. An interesting role with excellent career progression, no two days are ever the same. As you may be required to travel to client sites at times, a car and driving licence is essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF AN HR ADVISOR WILL INCLUDE:
- provide clear and supportive HR advice to clients via email, phone, and occasional face-to-face meetings on a wide range of employment related issues, including sickness absence management, disciplinary, grievance, performance management and capability, flexible working cases and redundancy
- supporting the HR Assistant with the full client onboarding process for new clients, including the drafting of master employment contracts and master employee handbooks and helping to set clients up on our HR Software (breatheHR)
- monitoring, reviewing and updating HR policies ensuring they are in line with current legislation
- supporting with the monthly HR client billing process
- checking various contracts and letters drafted by the HR Assistant
- checking holiday and salary calculations
- checking monthly payroll documentation for key clients
- supporting clients with any recruitment projects
- conducting exit interviews for key clients and providing feedback
- supporting the HR Business Partner with key projects
- support with client annual appraisals
