We’re seeking an HR Assistant to join our fast-paced Human Resources team in Pomfret Center, CT.

Job Title: Human Resources Assistant
Location: Pomfret Center, CT
Reports to: Human Resources Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Ceridian/Dayforce Platform is a plus
  • Excellent overall computer skills and competency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and positive employee relations skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Must be extremely organized and detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and flexibility
  • Must have the ability to maintain appropriate employee and company confidentiality at all times

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Frequent sitting/standing and walking
  • Ability to lift up to 10lbs
  • Ability to attend and conduct presentations

Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The HR Assistant provides a wide variety of administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources Department. This role will assist in the day-to-day functions of the Human Resources Department with the focus in compiling and maintaining personnel records, coordinating the new hire and termination processes, training records, as well as tracking multiple programs within the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Assists with recruiting efforts.
  • Provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance, payroll, unemployment claims, and Dayforce data entry.
  • Familiar with E-Verify to complete I-9 documentation and maintain I-9 files, including performing routine audits.
  • Assists with the preparation of the performance review process and tracking system.
  • Assists in the open enrollment process.
  • Prepares new employee files and ensures content is appropriately stored.
  • Helps facilitate training on company safety program.
  • Assists with employee tool program
  • Assists with employee uniform ordering and collecting
  • Maintains Employee Referral Program
  • Maintains Employee Roster
  • Other duties as assigned.
