Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Assistant reports to the Senior Director of Human Resources. This role provides administrative assistance to aid in the support of the human resources function.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • Successful candidate must have an associate degree in HR or a related field (bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • 1- 3 years of administrative experience, preferably in a non-profit setting
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Exhibits proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Power Point, Excel, Publisher and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem solving and organizational skills
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Commitment to confidentiality
  • Ability to work individually in self-directed manner and as part of a team with a wide range of responsibilities
  • Demonstrate working knowledge and ability to understand, interpret, and apply principles and best practices
  • Candidate must be familiar with database systems and common HR application

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle confidential materials with discretion and sensitivity
  • Collect and maintain personnel files for each employee
  • Contributes to agency blog or website
  • Perform administrative duties, such as maintaining employee database and sorting emails for the HR department
  • Maintain proper records of employee attendance and leaves
  • Ensure smooth communication with employees and timely resolution to their queries
  • Update Intranet
  • Converting all paper documents to electronic files
