Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Assistant reports to the Senior Director of Human Resources. This role provides administrative assistance to aid in the support of the human resources function.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
- Successful candidate must have an associate degree in HR or a related field (bachelor’s degree preferred)
- 1- 3 years of administrative experience, preferably in a non-profit setting
- Valid Driver’s License
- Exhibits proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Power Point, Excel, Publisher and Outlook
- Strong attention to detail and excellent problem solving and organizational skills
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal and collaborative skills
- Commitment to confidentiality
- Ability to work individually in self-directed manner and as part of a team with a wide range of responsibilities
- Demonstrate working knowledge and ability to understand, interpret, and apply principles and best practices
- Candidate must be familiar with database systems and common HR application
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Responsibilities:
- Handle confidential materials with discretion and sensitivity
- Collect and maintain personnel files for each employee
- Contributes to agency blog or website
- Perform administrative duties, such as maintaining employee database and sorting emails for the HR department
- Maintain proper records of employee attendance and leaves
- Ensure smooth communication with employees and timely resolution to their queries
- Update Intranet
- Converting all paper documents to electronic files
