THE OPPORTUNITY:

· We are looking for a full-time Human Resources Assistant to assist in the overall HR functions of the firm. The HR Assistant will report to and work closely with the HR Director.

THE JOB DESCRIPTION:

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Acting as the first point of contact for staff queries, providing guidance on policies, procedures, and employee benefits plans
· Full cycle recruitment – screening resumes, conducting interviews, reference checks, offer letters, attending recruitment events, working with recruiters and universities
· Ensure compliance with federal and provincial employment laws and internal policies; maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records through our HRIS
· Coordinate our Career Development Program (CDP) for all staff
· Coordinate the onboarding and offboarding employee process
· Benefits coordination and payroll support
· Events coordination as a member of our Events Committee
· Act as the lead resource for the firm’s Occupational Health and Safety program.
· Oversee staff overtime and vacation approvals, and work in conjunction with the full-cycle accountant on payroll matters
· Various correspondence and reports
· Attend and take minutes for various internal meetings
· Other Human Resources and administrative duties as required

THE QUALIFICATIONS:

· Minimum one year experience in Human Resources; experience in a professional services environment would be considered an asset
· Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe
· Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, work independently and adapt quickly
· Exceptional organizational and communication skills
· High standard of integrity and ability to handle confidential information appropriately
