Under the direct supervision of the Human Resource Director, this position involves assisting in
day-to-day operations, including accurate record keeping, notifications, and administrative duties.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a bachelor’s degree in business management with a concentration in Human Resources
preferred and at least two (2)
years’ experience in Human Resources and related fields.
Salary Range $47,000-$52,000

Responsibilities:
- Assists with the recruitment function, such as drafting position postings and coordinating
pre-employment screenings, background checks, and testing processes.
- Schedule applicants and conduct interviews to retrieve necessary documentation for screening
purposes.
- Prepare all new hire packets and ensure all forms are current. Ensure all new hires complete the
necessary paperwork before entering the Payroll System.
- Conduct employment verifications for new hires and previous employees upon request.
- Creates and maintains various electronic human resources reports.
- Responsible for maintenance of all personnel records.
- Distribute offer and term letters
- Conduct quarterly audits of employees’ files for removal of disciplines per the union contracts.
- Track 89-day casual laborer start and end dates, AFSCME union member spreadsheet to send to
admins, grievances, EEOC, IDHR, FOIA
- Prepare and maintain OSHA 300 and 300A forms both spreadsheet and filing
- Complete wage statements for Worker’s Compensation company
- Complete research for monthly DOL survey and annual BCBS group size survey
- Complete administrative duties such as answering calls, faxing, filing, scanning emails,
arranging meetings, creating training certificates of completion, and composing letters and
memorandums.
- Assists with the Citywide training function, providing general business, management development,
technical skills, and specific issue training. Develops and conducts training as needed. Conduct
monthly safety talks
- Assists in the arrangement and implementation of employee evaluations
- Assists and distributes/collects senior grass-cutting/snow removal applications in the absence of
a coordinator
- Research and compose information for FOIA, City Attorneys, and other employment agencies.
- Greet the Public, control office traffic flow, and provide applications and responses to HR and
general directory inquiries, verbally, written, and online.
