Description:
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an HR Benefits and Payroll Coordinator in Spokane, Washington. This role is central to the organization’s payroll functions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with government regulations. The successful candidate will also handle various employee benefits programs, manage insurance billing, and ensure compliance with required benefit notices.
Responsibilities:
- Enter, maintain, and process information in the payroll system, including employee compensation, time worked, paid leave, holidays, deductions, withholdings, and garnishments.
- Determine payroll liabilities by entering tax information, 401k transfers, direct deposits, and wage assignments.
- Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and monthly bank statements, ensuring confidentiality and statutory compliance.
- Collaborate with Finance to support all internal and external audits related to payroll.
- Investigate and resolve issues relating to payroll production.
- Administer various employee benefits programs, including group health, dental, accident and disability, life insurance, and 401(k).
- Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction.
- Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims, and costs.
- Administer COBRA and conduct benefits orientations, explaining benefits self-enrollment system.
- Prepare and set up meetings designed to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits and other related incentive programs, ensuring distribution of required employee notices.
WAGE: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour DOE
