HR/BENEFITS COORDINATOR
We are looking to employ an HR coordinator with outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. An HR coordinator is expected to be a conceptual thinker with fantastic organizational and time management skills. You will have excellent administrative and IT skills with the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
HR COORDINATOR REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience working in human resources.
- Knowledge of ADP database software, email systems, and office software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly and professional demeanor.
- Good organizational skills.
- Advanced knowledge of employment law.
- Empathy and an approachable demeanor.
- Attentiveness and honesty.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field.
- 2 years of experience as an HR Coordinator (essential).
- Exposure to Labor Law and employment equity regulations.
- Effective HR administration and people management skills.
- Exposure to payroll practices.
- Full understanding of HR functions and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
- Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related business and communication tools.
- Fantastic organizational and time management skills.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
HR COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.
- Assist with performance management procedures.
- Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events and maintain agendas.
- Coordinate training sessions and seminars.
- Explaining employee benefits.
- Responding to HR-related queries within the company.
- Maintaining employee confidentiality.
- Assisting with the distribution of training material.
- Provide administrative assistance to HR department recruiter(s) are out on calls and job fairs
- Scheduling and setting appointments with applicants and management as needed
- Maintaining strict confidentiality of company/employee information
- Assist with background investigation/drug screening process
- Assist with onboarding and new hires first day on the job
- Answers incoming telephone calls, determines the purpose of callers, and forwards calls as appropriate.
- Answers questions about the organization and provides callers with addresses, directions, and other information.
- Assists with initial new hire process; submission of online resume, application, and updating database
- Welcomes visitors, determines nature of business, and announces visitors as appropriate.
- Maintain effective relationships with social and professional networks to source qualified candidates
- Manage and assist with the coordination of interviews with relevant hiring managers and team members.
- Be aware of Mills Marine standards & business conduct and abide by the instructions and guidelines.
- Maintains fax machines, assists users, sends faxes, and retrieves and routes incoming faxes.
- Organizes and maintains file system and files correspondence and other records.
- Creates and prints fax cover sheets, memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents.
MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
This non-exempt position has no supervisory responsibilities.
