HR BUSINESS PARTNER (12-18 MONTH CONTRACT)

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Human Resources, the HR Business Partner plays a key role in the management, planning and coaching of their client groups. Passionate about talent management, he or she advises and supports managers in various HR areas, including employee relations, talent and performance management, succession planning, training and development. , as well as health and safety. This person will also play an advisory role to managers, guiding and supporting them in the interpretation or application of various HR policies, best practices, processes or initiatives.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with managers to understand the reality and needs of their sector of activity and provide them with specific human resources services;
  • Support and coach managers in the management and development of their employees as well as in the application of policies and procedures;
  • Advise managers and employees on situational issues, by participating in internal investigations, corrective actions and coaching.
  • Participate in talent assessments and performance review follow-ups using talent mapping and succession planning tools;
  • Create partnerships with HR Specialists/Partners and relevant HR team members to ensure strong business partnerships with client groups;
  • Support, coach and empower managers from different sectors of activity on best practices in human resources management;
  • Manage labour relations and disability files;
  • Conduct competitive intelligence and market analysis to improve internal client HR programs and monitoring measures (KPIs) to provide optimal HR services;
  • Establish and monitor various human resources performance indicators;
  • Coach, mentor and advise leaders on human resources topics to ensure consistent and equitable application of programs and policies.
  • Develop and implement solutions to address challenges in departments (attrition, retention, engagement, leadership development, etc.)
  • Support employee relations or compliance investigations.
  • Communicate regularly with employees on human resources programs and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Industrial Relations or equivalent;
  • Member of the CHRA, an asset;
  • At least three years of experience in a similar role;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Excellent understanding of HR best practices;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of labour standards in Quebec;
  • Perfectly bilingual (French and English);
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (patience and active listening);
  • Good training and coaching skills;
  • Ability to solve problems;
  • Enjoy teamwork and have a positive attitude;
  • Self-motivated individual able to work independently;
  • Flexibility and adaptability;
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
