Description:

We have a fantastic opportunity for a HR Business Partner to join our people team, this will be a remote role with national travel.
The role of HR Business Partner is to take a lead on all strategic, tactical and operational activity required to support nominated divisions and Central Functions. Working closely with and primarily partnering Divisional MD’s, Senior Leaders and Heads of Department, the HR Business Partner is responsible for ensuring objectives are achieved including the delivery of organisational strategy as aligned to the people agenda. As a member of the SLT you will play and actively influence the future focus and development of the business.

KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Educated to Degree level or similar.
  • Graduate calibre, ideally MCIPD qualified or equivalent.
  • You must have a minimum of 5 years Operational HR experience and demonstrate capabilities of working at a strategic level and as part of a senior team.
  • You will have strong generalist HR background with a particular focus on Employee Relations
  • The capability to challenge and interpret policies and procedures and their implementation by management teams.
  • Excellent knowledge of Employment Law, including experience of Trade Union negotiations and collaboration.
  • Experience of managing and leading change.
  • Highly commercial and the ability to demonstrate commercial acumen when offering advice to key stakeholders and colleagues.
  • Excellent networking and influencing skills.
  • Ability to business partner across different business units and actively manage competing stakeholder priorities.
  • Highly credible and influential amongst senior managers.
  • Proven track record of skilled issues management.
  • Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of service delivery, (internal and external customers).
  • Demonstrable understanding and resolution to reduce staff “churn” within the business.
  • Excellent knowledge of how to inspire performance in multi-site operations.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Experience of working with Private Sector clients and TUPE staff with a clear understanding of terms and conditions.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As a member of the leadership team, you will develop and successfully deliver the HR agenda aligned to the business plan for your respective divisions and teams.
  • Work effectively with the wider members of the HR function to ensure a collaborative approach to handling strategic thinking and projects.
  • Provide HR performance updates against agreed objectives for all business areas responsible. To develop, monitor and regularly review key HR Management information to achieve and improve strategic initiatives that support agreed business strategies.
  • Participate and support future TUPE transfers, working in collaboration with the mobilisation team operations and other HR colleagues.
  • Provide appropriate support to individual members of the senior team to help them develop as people managers and maximise their contribution to the organisation.
  • Work collaboratively with the ER team and particularly the Head of People Operations, Head of Resourcing and Head of L&D to ensure that all operational HR activity is delivered within agreed SLA’s and achieving business requirements.
  • To take the lead on projects that are identified as applicable to the business and/or the wider HR team and ensure effective communication and implementation is achieved.
  • Inspires others to a higher standard of performance and demonstrates an adaptable style to ensure others want to give their best.
  • Has the ability to take others/teams with them to achieve set objectives and creates an environment where accountabilities are clear.
