JOB DESCRIPTION:

L3Harris is seeking a Senior Associate, HR Business Partner to support our Functional teams within our Tactical Communications (TCOM) sector. The successful candidate will partner closely with leadership and employees to execute HR strategies that enable the accomplishment of business objectives while leveraging their strong interpersonal skills to communicate with groups inside and outside of the HR function, partnering on key initiatives, and shaping our culture, talent practices, and HR procedures.
This is a dynamic role supporting multiple functions both domestically and internationally. In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn, influence, and support the HR priorities for program management, product line management, finance, and business planning across multiple sites. This role will report to the Senior Manager, HR Business Partner within the TCOM HR team, and will be based in Rochester, NY.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 9 years of prior related Human Resources experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

  • Experience working as an HR Business Partner with increasing scope and responsibility, supporting various levels within the organization, preferably within a matrix and government contracting environment.
  • Experience with Team Facilitation, Performance Management, Employee Relations, Workforce Planning, Compensation, Diversity & Inclusion, and Organizational Development.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, influencing, coaching, and consulting skills
  • Demonstrated experiences with strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively influence, coach, and consult employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Highly adaptable and able to succeed in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Experience with root cause analysis with ability to link situations to the bigger picture.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment as well as operate independently.
  • Possesses a high degree of professional integrity and confidentiality with an eye for attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with the ability to analyze and display data.
  • Knowledge of HR systems such as PeopleSoft, Oracle, and SuccessFactors.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an HR Business Partner to support the Functional teams within the Tactical Communications Sector in the areas of compensation administration, employee engagement, employee relations, learning & development, legal compliance, measuring & reporting, performance management, and staffing at all levels.
  • Provide direction, counsel/coaching, and business analytics that enable leaders to make sound talent decisions and promote employee engagement and healthy/positive/productive employee relations.
  • Proactively work with the business to implement and strategically drive talent management programs to improve leadership capabilities, and ensure succession planning, high potential identification, and development objectives in the achievement of overall business strategy. Bring creativity and innovative thinking to the process.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and Learning & Development peers to create a positive onboarding experience for new hires.
  • Identify and diagnose issues proactively and develop, recommend, and implement root cause solutions that enhance employee engagement/experience and business results promptly.
  • Participate and/or lead projects and special initiatives within and outside the HR function as assigned.
  • Improve HR processes in support of the business to drive greater efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with management and employees to provide advice and counsel both on employee-related and organizational matters.
