Description:

We are looking to strengthen our People & HR team with a HR Business Partner based at Maple Lodge and or Falmer covering multiple frameworks including Thames Water, CMDP (Southern Water) amongst others, hybrid working is available.
You will report directly to the Head of People and you will be working within complex joint venture environments. We are looking for an individual who encourages others to act boldly, think differently and identifies opportunities to make an impact. This role will suit perfectly someone who likes to be out and about rather than being head office based. You will be responsible for supporting the development of and deployment of the people plan working on such things as talent development, learning and development, resource planning, engagement, communications and organisational effectiveness in conjunction with the wider HR team based centrally.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Work closely with Stakeholders and Line Managers to build capabilities, plan and manage talent and develop/support approaches that achieve shared organisational objectives
  • Drive the people agenda in line with the business and HR strategy including talent management and organisational development
  • Working with the central teams to design and implement key initiatives relating to areas such as talent, performance management, diversity and inclusion, wellbeing.
  • In partnership with managers take ownership of implementing the people plan
  • Coaching Managers and individuals
  • Maintain positive relationships with the central HR functions
  • Supporting the HR service team to manage employee relations issues when required
  • Take an active role in future talent processes such as graduate recruitment
  • Undertake and lead HR project work as identified
  • Work closely with the L&D team to provide support in the co-ordination of training & development for managers and their teams in line with performance management tools
  • Work with L&D team to ensure key deliverables are met, monitored and reported
  • Meet regularly with the HR Director to ensure the consistency and alignment of all the HR processes and strategies (globally and locally).
  • Maintain a positive and solution-oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.
