HR BUSINESS PARTNER - HUMAN RESOURCE DEPARTMENT (GRADE C5)
Are you passionate about making a difference? Join our dynamic HR team at the Western Cape Blood Service (WCBS), a non-profit organisation dedicated to collecting, processing, and distributing blood and blood products of the highest quality in the Western Cape.
You will play a key role in delivering a holistic HR service to Line Managers and staff, ensuring seamless, end-to-end HR operations that align with our mission of saving lives.
In this role, you’ll also provide essential support to the Head of HR and HR Manager, contributing to the strategic goals of our organisation.
This position is based in Ndabeni, Cape Town, and will require occasional travel to our regional operations across the Western Cape. We’d love to hear from you if you’re ready to bring your HR expertise to a purpose-driven organisation and make a meaningful impact!
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Matric Certificate
- Bachelor’s degree
- An unendorsed driver’s licence
- 5 – 7 years as an HR Generalist with extensive Employee Relations experience
- Background in a unionised environment would be an advantage
- Computer literacy with advanced Excel skills
- Own reliable transport

- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:
- Provide expert HR policy guidance and interpretation to Line Managers and staff.
- Manage complex employee relations matters with professionalism and sensitivity.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of employment legislation and ensure compliance with best practices.
- Collaborate with management and employees to strengthen work relationships, build morale, and enhance productivity and retention.
- Offer day-to-day performance management guidance to Line Managers, including coaching, counselling, career development, and disciplinary actions.
- Oversee recruitment and talent management processes, including drafting advertisements, arranging interviews, and compiling competency profiles.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a seamless employee experience.
