Title: HR Business Partner
Reporting to: HR Director
Location: Colchester
The Woods business was established in 1909 and continues to manufacture in Colchester, United Kingdom. We have around 250 people across all business functions from sales through design and product assembly & testing, as well as businesses in USA, UK, Germany & Singapore.
Woods is a brand of Fläkt Group which is an international leader in wider HVAC products, systems, services, and solutions. As part of the wider group, Woods products are sold into multiple global applications through various routes to market including Group Companies, Agents & Distributors, Key Accounts as well as direct B2B.
The Colchester site is also the Centre of Excellence for the group for all Axial, Air Movement and Fire Safety products and serves to enable product & system sales in Building Services, Industrial, Original Equipment, and Tunnel & Metro applications globally. Our brand and product range is internationally recognised and flexible, from short-lead-time standard products through to technically complex design-to-order products. Manufacturing activities on site in Colchester include Assembly, Product Test, Stamping, Machining, Fabrication, and metal forming.
MainPurposeofRole:
To oversee the HR Operation across the plethora of people activity, ensuring the workforce is engaged, productive and aligned with business goals; Part of the Operational leadership team, leading on values, diversity, inclusion and a positive high performance, continuous improvement culture.

Responsibilities:

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop HR Strategies:
  • Create and execute HR strategies that directly support our organizational goals.
  • Talent Acquisition and Onboarding:
  • Lead recruitment efforts, collaborating with managers to select top talent.
  • Oversee the seamless onboarding process for new hires.
  • Leadership and Motivation:
  • Actively lead and inspire both HR team and peers.
  • Employee Relations:
  • Address employee concerns, conflicts, and other employee relations matters.
  • Talent Management:
  • Contribute to talent management processes and strategies.
  • Compensation and Benefits:
  • Ensure competitive compensation and benefits packages to attract and retain high-performing employees.
  • Performance Management:
  • Supervise performance appraisals, goal-setting, and feedback processes.
  • Training and Development:
  • Identify training needs and design development programs.
  • Leadership Accountability:
  • Promote effective leadership and hold leaders accountable.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Drive ongoing enhancements in HR administration, activities, and overall output.
  • Legal Compliance:
  • Stay informed about labor laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Health and Wellbeing Programs:
  • Oversee health and wellbeing initiatives, including occupational health surveillance and referrals.
