Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Service Excellence Manager, this role involves a combination of leadership, strategic planning, and operational management to ensure the successful implementation and ongoing effectiveness of the Helix platform within the HR function. This role must possess business and technical expertise. They should be adept at managing complex projects and making decisions that balance the needs of the organization with the capabilities of the technology.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Essential:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience using software in HR, case management, or similar systems.
  • Proven leadership skills to guide and motivate teams.
  • Ability to develop and communicate a clear vision and strategy for the product.
  • Skill in aligning product goals with broader organizational objectives.
  • Communication and negotiation skills to manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Experience in engaging with a variety of stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and make informed product decisions.
  • Understanding of the technical aspects of the Helix platform and HR Shared Services processes.
  • Ability to work closely with technical teams and understand software development life cycles.
  • Attention to detail to validate that product features meet requirements.
  • Ability to plan, execute, and track product development timelines and milestones.
  • Proficient in HCM and service management platforms, software, and applications.

Desirable:

  • Proficiency in project management tools and techniques.
  • Awareness of legal and regulatory requirements related to HR and data privacy.
  • Familiarity with HR technologies and trends.
  • Experience in coaching teams in Agile practices and principles.
  • Strong working knowledge of BMC Helix and Workday platforms, software, and applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Service Excellence Manager to align the Helix product strategy with the overall HR and shared services team goals.
  • Communicate the vision and strategy to the development team and other team members (Knowledge Content Lead, Reporting Analyst and HR Analysts).
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of product management principles and methodologies, such as Agile and Scrum.
  • Act as the Super User for key enabling systems – Helix.
  • Hold accountability for day-to-day effective operations of Helix.
  • Manage complex escalations of user support issues that cannot be solved by the team.
  • Work as a HR subject matter expert to understand requirements.
  • Oversee user acceptance testing and gather feedback for improvements.
  • Ensure that the Helix platform maintains high standards of quality and usability.
  • Manage and prioritize maintenance tasks.
  • Develop and maintain a product roadmap that outlines key milestones and deliverables.
  • Plan for future enhancements and iterations of the Helix platform.
  • Identifying improvement opportunities in process and systems liaising with Service Management and IT teams to develop and implement these.
  • Make day to day updates and improvements to systems, digital labor and automations.
  • Manage complex escalations of user support issues that cannot be solved by the team.
  • Coordinate with other product owners and teams to ensure alignment and integration where necessary.
  • Ensure that the development team has a clear understanding of what is needed.
  • Inspire and motivate the development team to achieve the product vision.
  • Facilitate collaboration and decision-making within the team.
  • Support the professional development of team members.
  • Identify potential risks to the product’s success and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational policies.
