JOB DESCRIPTION:

As the HR Communication Specialist at Caterpillar, you will report directly to the HR Director, Geneva. Your primary responsibility will be to enhance communication within the HR department and throughout the organization, at our Geneva site. Your adept social skills will be instrumental as you engage with a diverse array of employees & leaders, including those from Human Resources, Facility Management, and Employee Resource Groups. Leveraging your strong communication abilities and proficiency with digital tools, you will oversee the effective consolidation and delivery of information across multiple channels.
Important information: This is a fixed-term opportunity for 6 months with possible future extension.

WHAT YOU HAVE (BASIC REQUIREMENTS):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Marketing or Human Resources or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Proficiency in communication tools (eg Powerpoint, SharePoint, Poppulo), or similar newsletter platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Onboard new hires locally, providing an orientation tour and coordinating immersive activities, to facilitate a smooth transition into the organization.
  • Manage the local publication planning for physical and digital communication on-site, consolidating and submitting all request for approval.
  • Create and send out the bi-weekly newsletter to all Geneva-based employees, ensuring inputs are accurately consolidated and distributed in a timely manner.
  • Draft and send out ad-hoc communication on various topics such as HR guidelines, security procedures, facility developments, in consultation with relevant stakeholders
  • Be the local HR touchpoint for ERGs (Employee Resource Groups), providing initial guidance on their potential initiatives and related needs, prior to validating them with your manager.
  • Maintain the HR SharePoint platform up to date, reshaping it when necessary and ensuring the accessibility of important documents and resources to all.
  • Support the update of Policies and Procedures as needed, to ensure compliance with legal requirements and alignment with company values.
  • Assist with the creation of an employee handbook, to provide employees with clear guidelines and information about company policies and procedures.
  • Support the preparation of events such as the semi-annual “All employees meetings”, ensuring key messages are clearly captured in the presentation delivered to all Geneva employees.
  • Participate in analyzing local Employee Insight Survey results and support the implementation of action plans to address identified areas of improvement.
  • Project management – supporting the HR department with ad hoc projects to drive initiatives that meet organizational objectives.
  • Provide assistance to the local HR team with operational tasks as required.
