DESCRIPTION:

Edmonds College is recruiting for an HR Consultant 3 - Benefits. This position provides support and service for our faculty, staff, and administrators around a range of benefits questions. This position will support comprehensive benefit administration including, Medical, Retirement, PFML & FMLA. The ideal candidate will have cross functional experience in compensation, benefits, data entry and a willingness to step in where needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One year of benefits management experience
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience with high volume data entry
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced office environment

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor¿s degree with focus on business administration, human resources, social or organizational sciences, or related fields. Equivalent knowledge and experience may be considered
  • Experience with PeopleSoft

Responsibilities:

  • Assist HR team with ongoing projects
  • Cross functional support of daily HR Tasks including benefits & compensation
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Works in support of the HR/Benefits Manager concentrating on providing benefits information to employees and retirees
  • Enrolls employees in retirement and insurance programs
  • Act as liaison for college with DRS, Health Care Authority, and other benefit administration agencies as needed
  • Works in coordination with HR/Benefits Manager in processing of hours accrual audit for benefits eligibility, review of HCA codes
  • Audit and review need for retroactive and corrective actions for benefits enrollment
  • Advise and provide appropriate notice of any/all status changes
  • Administer PEBB worksheets and benefit correspondences
  • Administer all facets of open enrollment-including attestations and plan updates, prior service verification
  • Processing terminations and retirements of classified/exempt employees
  • Coordinating transfers of employees¿ employment information.
    This is a classified staff position reporting to the Benefits Manager.
