Description:

Position Summary and Purpose: The HR Coordinator will be responsible for providing administrative support to the HR department and assisting with various HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, and compliance. The HR coordinator reports to the HR Manager.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to effectively communicate with all colleagues and level of management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • High level of confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma required
  • 2 years of experience in an HR support role or similar position required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of CA employment laws and regulations strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now, Alchemy, Asana a plus
  • HR certifications are a plus (HRCI, SHRM)
    Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update employee records in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Prepare and process HR documentation, including employment offers, change notices, and terminations.
  • Complete I-9 Forms and ensure all required documentation is collected and filed.
  • Assist with payroll processing by reviewing employee timecards to ensure accurate and timely payments.
  • Ensure job descriptions are up-to-date and accessible.
  • Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and workplace concerns.
  • Manage the HR email inbox and address employee requests promptly and professionally.
  • Assist in administering employee benefit programs, reasonable accommodations, and leaves of absence.
  • Support the recruitment process by posting job openings, conducting phone screenings, scheduling interviews, and coordinating communication with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Facilitate the hiring and onboarding process for new hires, including background checks, preparation of onboarding materials, assignment of trainings, and conducting orientation sessions.
  • Assist in coordination of HR training sessions and professional development programs.
  • Maintain the harassment prevention training program and assign required trainings.
  • Report workplace injuries to the claims management provider and maintain OSHA logs.
  • Assist with the preparation and administration of performance reviews.
  • Maintain the attendance program, including running attendance reports and providing updates.
  • Update and maintain HR-related projects in the project management system (Asana).
  • Assist the safety administrator as needed and participate in the safety team.
  • File both digital and physical documents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
