Description:
Here at Human Appeal we have an exciting opportunity for a HR Coordinator to join our team based in Mississauga, Canada. You will join us on a full-time basis as part of an initial 1-year fixed term contract with a view to progressing into a permanent role. In return, you will receive a competitive salary.
Human Appeal is a faith-based charity that aims to abolish poverty by providing humanitarian aid, sustainable development programs and championing advocacy for our beneficiaries worldwide.
As HR Coordinator, the successful candidate will play an integral role to manage the full end-to-end recruitment and onboarding process for all roles at Human Appeal Canada, as well as managing the full employee lifecycle and all HR processes (including performance management, learning and development, employee relations and employee engagement) for Human Appeal Canada. The recruitment responsibilities include writing Job Profiles, drafting and posting job adverts, shortlisting candidates, and arranging and conducting competency-based job interviews. The onboarding responsibilities include leading on the screening process for new staff, including conducting Thomson Reuters checks, media checks, and DBS checks, as well as collecting employment, education and character references. All to ensure the smooth running of the recruitment aspect of Human Appeals HR operations in-line with audit requirements, as well as to ensure that candidates are properly and thoroughly vetted in order to safeguard Human Appeal, and in order to ensure that Human Appeal recruits the best possible staff in a timely manner and at a low cost, using a fair and objective process. This role is also responsible for managing the full employee lifecycle for Human Appeal Canada, which includes creating regional-specific HR policies and processes, as well as managing areas of employee relations, learning and development, performance management, and reward and recognition. All to ensure the smooth running of HR operations at Human Appeals regional offices in-line with the best practice standards set at Human Appeal UK.
We are ideally looking to appoint somebody immediately to this role.
WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR IN OUR HR COORDINATOR:
· Ideally degree educated in a relevant field, such as Human Resource Management or qualified by experience with minimum High School diploma
- 3+ years experience in a relevant role
- Experience working previously in a specialist in-house recruitment or resourcing role
- Knowledge and experience of managing HR processes
- MS Office Suite
- Fluent written and spoken English is essential. Additional languages such as Arabic, Urdu, are desirable

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE HR COORDINATOR:

- Manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle at HA CANADA, including all actions related to employee contracts, personnel file maintenance, payroll, learning and development, performance management, employee relations, reward and recognition, and the employee leaver process
