Responsibilities:

PRIMARY ROLE OF THIS POSITION

This position contributes to and supports the provision of employee-centred HR support and some office administration support for their Distribution Centre (DC). The Human Resources Coordinator will perform primary duties and provide support to HR colleagues, Operations Managers, and Kohl & Frisch staff to ensure the maintenance of high service levels to our customers.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

General Office Duties

  • Respond to incoming phone calls related to HR
  • Prepare contract employee report
  • Update organization charts and headcounts
  • Maintain employee files and electronic files
  • Prepare employment confirmation letters
  • Prepare new hire/termination reports for IT
  • Post announcements, collect mail and faxes
  • Provide support to the team and perform other administrative duties, as required

Dayforce Administration and Auditing

  • Monitor and respond accordingly to emails in the Dayforce mailbox
  • Update employee changes as required in Dayforce
  • Enter all new hourly hires into Dayforce system
  • Process terminations of hourly employees
  • Update employee training records in Dayforce
  • Reset passwords
  • Complete biweekly and monthly audits on system to ensure accuracy for payroll
  • Adhoc Dayforce reporting for HR Managers

Recruitment

  • Manage full cycle recruitment for all DCs
  • Manage temporary worker assignments with staffing agencies, organize and maintain staffing agency files
  • Assemble and administer candidate test packages, as required
  • Prepare letters of employment for successful candidates and assemble orientation packages
  • Conduct reference and criminal background checks for candidates
  • Conduct new employee orientations
  • Help with hourly hiring for all distribution centres

Health and Safety

  • Maintain and file all health and safety documentation including training forms and tests
  • Maintain and promote health and safety awareness in the facility
  • Track and update safety shoes logs for all eastern distribution centres
  • Verify and track safety shoe company invoices for payments

Payroll

  • Complete the applicable forms in order to communicate employee changes to the Payroll Department
  • Answer employee inquiries regarding pay, as required

Other Duties as Required

  • Other administrative duties will be assigned, as required
  • Act as backup for specific duties when Human Resources Generalist is absent

Education and Experience

  • Degree, diploma or certificate in Human Resources Management or equivalent
