Position Details
The HR Coordinator - Leave and Compliance at Tilson provides essential support to the HR team, focusing on leave administration, ADA accommodation, workers’ compensation, compliance, and coordinating with payroll. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to manage HR-related data, track records, and support employees. The HR Coordinator - Leave and Compliance will also assist in HR projects and reporting, working in partnership with the HR Operations Manager and HR team to ensure the smooth operation of HR processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Track employee leaves, paid family leaves and short/long-term disability records as provided by third-party administrators, ensuring accurate data entry and communication.
  • Provide administrative support for workers’ compensation claims, including document organization, record collection, and reporting.
  • Provide administrative support for ADA accommodations, including sending out accommodation paperwork and tracking accommodations.
  • Coordinate with payroll to ensure accurate processing of leave and benefit changes.
  • Maintain up-to-date employee records in HRIS and other systems, ensuring data integrity.
  • Assist with compliance tasks related to federal, state, and local employment laws, including audits, reporting, and necessary filings.
  • Generate HR reports and assist with HR projects.
  • Support employees with self-service updates in the HRIS, such as personal information changes.
  • Correspond with employees regarding leave, workers’ compensation, and disability program information, as well as required documentation for leave and accommodation applications.
  • Escalate complex issues to the HR Operations Manager as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the HR team and backup for other HR Coordinators as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of related professional experience required, ideally in HR administration or leaves of absence.
  • HR certification such as SHRM-CP, aPHR, or PHR is a plus.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with HR systems.
  • Basic understanding of U.S. employment laws, leave policies, and HR principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with customer service orientation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude toward learning.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working on a computer.

Tilson leads with integrity around pay transparency; as part of the compensation plan for this position you can expect a pay range of:
$26.00 - $36.00
