Description:

HR COORDINATOR (PEOPLE & CULTURE)

The HR/People and Culture Coordinator role is responsible for administering and carrying out duties which help MagnaWave find, develop, and engage great team members. The responsibilities of this position must be carried out in a manner that supports our culture, core values, and inclusive employee-centric perspective. The position requires experience with human resources administration, an understanding of local, state, and federal employment laws; and the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, and strong organizational skills are a must. Ideal candidates will have experience in the manufacturing industry.

RECRUITMENT, SELECTION & EMPLOYMENT

  • Develop and maintain up to date and accurate job descriptions for all positions.
  • Post positions, schedule screenings and interviews, screen candidates for all positions, especially for culture-fit; participate in interviews as requested.
  • Generate offer letters and track onboarding documentation.
  • Complete background and reference checking as required by position.
  • Conduct all employment related onboarding and orientation processes ensuring employees feel welcomed and valued starting on their first day.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Skilled problem solver and idea generator
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information system (HRIS), applicant tracking, and similar computer applications.
  • Positivity and optimism, blended with a sense of practicality.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma required; some college preferred.
  • 2-3 years of HR experience; preferably in the areas of Recruiting, Employee Relations, and Organizational Development.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to move about the facility, including manufacturing and warehouse environments on a periodic basis.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
    Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, some evenings and weekends to cover special projects and events.

Responsibilities:

GENERAL HR DUTIES

  • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Provides clerical support to the HR department.
  • May assist with payroll functions including answering employee questions, reviewing data, and distributing checks.
  • Coordinates special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
