POSITION: HR COORDINATOR (FULL-TIME)

Location: Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada
Reports to: Senior Manager, Human Resources
Job Purpose: Reporting to the Senior Manager of Human Resources, the HR Coordinator will maintain a positive work environment and effective employee relations in fast-paced environment by providing support to all aspects of the Human Resources department. The HR Coordinator will have an active role in on-boarding new employees, coordinating orientation and training, and will assist in carrying out employee reward and recognition programs. The HR Coordinator will assist with the day-to-day operations of the HR department and apply best practices in human resources, benefits administration, and payroll with the utmost confidentiality. Human Resources is an integral part of our business, responsible for creating a work environment of inclusion, respect and trust. Building and managing a strong team is essential. We are looking for someone enthusiastic and friendly with strong communication skills to join our Team.

CRITICAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Process of all new hires, changes and terminations using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Conduct weekly orientations ensuring all employees have attended.
  • Create new employee packages and files, including name tags.
  • Prepare statutory government reporting i.e. WSIB and EHT ensuring we comply with laws and meet deadlines.
  • Prepare monthly payroll summary and vacation accrual reports.
  • Perform benefit administration duties including employee enrolment and monthly invoicing.
  • Assist in the administration of biweekly salary and hourly payroll using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Prepare legislated government documents such as Record of Employments bi-weekly.
  • Submit employee WSIB claims in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Prepare reporting for union dues remittance, new hire and seniority listings.
  • Review full-time employee vacation submissions through payroll system and assist with any errors.
  • Maintain employee files and ensure all content is up to date and organized for audit purposes.
  • Assist with the reward and recognition and staff party programs.
  • Participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings.
  • Correspond with various vendors to ensure stock is full for onboarding items such as name tags and other supplies.
  • Assist with active reimbursement programs.
  • Discreetly handle details of a highly confidential and critical nature.
  • Respond to employee inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Provide support for Senior Manager of Human Resources as required.
  • Other duties as assigned

SPECIAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • University or College courses in Human Resources Management is an asset.
  • CHRP designation and/or previous human resources experience is an asset.
  • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now is a definite asset.
  • Must be able to prioritize and multi-task, and must adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook email.
  • Accurate data entry skills.
  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Discretion and professionalism in handling personal and payroll related information is essential to the job.
