Description:
We are offering a unique role in the education sector situated in BALTIMORE, Maryland. The role focuses on leading the HR function, specifically overseeing employee relations at a university level. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Employee Relations function.
- Assist in managing and executing project work related to current ER policies and procedures.
- Interpret and provide guidance on policies and procedures, and create Standard Operating Procedures for Employee Relations.
- Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the HR department in an onsite capacity.
- Maintain a flexible schedule, typically operating from roughly 8:00 am to 5:30 pm.
- Utilize skills in Employee Relations and Human Resources (HR) Administration.
- Adhere to and implement appropriate policies and procedures.
- Ensure the smooth transitioning of responsibilities due to the departure of the current Director of Employee Relations.
- Proven experience as an HR Director for a minimum of 5 years
- Strong knowledge of Employee Relations
- Proficiency in Human Resources (HR) Administration
- Expertise in developing and implementing Policies & Procedures
- Experience working within the Education or University industry preferred
- Excellent leadership and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Advanced understanding of HR practices and strategic planning
- Proven record of managing HR metrics
- Proficiency in using HR software and databases
- Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills
- In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices
- Ability to foster healthy employee relations
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
