HR GENERALIST - 1 YEAR CONTRACT
Hours: Full-time (40 hours/ 5 days a week)
Location: Onsite at Liberty Tire Recycling – Annacis Island Delta, BC
Term: 1 year with possibility of extension
Compensation: $60,000 - 72,000 CAD per year
Reports to: Regional HR Manager

SUMMARY
As a day-to-day partner, trusted confidant and colleague advocate to the business, the HR Generalist will be responsible for providing site leadership and operational support in all areas of HR for our Canadian industrial sites in BC and AB (we like to call it ‘the Rockies region’). You will support in the following functional areas including, but not limited to full-cycle recruitment for both hourly and salaried staff, onboarding, day-to-day employee relations, HRIS administration, performance management, claims management, and employee engagement. In addition, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and strategic HR projects as our Canadian division grows.

Success in your role will be determined by your ability to build trusting, collaborative, working relationships with employees.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or equivalent; OR an equivalent combination of education and transferable experience
- Strong working knowledge of HR practices and principles with demonstrated experience in full cycle recruitment
- Strong working knowledge of MS Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Up to 25% travel required between BC and AB

Responsibilities:
- Act as frontline support for all team members and managers
- Support the development, implementation, and delivery of HR programs, initiatives, and policies
- Develop, recommend, and implement innovative quality human resources strategies/programs to support the recruitment and retention of top talent using pillars from ‘Canada’s Top 100 Employers’
- Support the full-cycle recruitment process for all roles by sourcing, shortlisting, screening, and conducting reference checks for successful candidates
- Prepare various letters including employment verification letters and employment agreements
- Provide advice, guidance & interpretation of HR policies, programs, and employment legislation
- Day-to-day management and overall organization of employee files, HR data, and reporting in BambooHR
- Determine and analyze department requirements by conducting surveys, forming focus groups, and analyzing responses providing recommendations to the Regional HR Leader
- Identify funding opportunities for the company and administer grant applications for training and development
- Promote Liberty Tire as an attractive place to work through networking, candidate/external recruiter contact and communication with various internal and external sources, as well as relevant industry associations
- Create connections, relationships and supports effective communication to all levels of the company
