Description:

START DATE: DECEMBER 2024

We are looking for a hands-on HR Generalist with UK specific experience, who will be working with managers and colleagues in UK and Ireland. The role will report to the UK and Ireland Country Lead and will work closely with them and the HR Administrator to help ensure compliance with employment law and best practices.This role will be expected to help mentor and develop the capabilities of the HR Administrator but is an individual contributor role without direct reports.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • CIPD qualified (or working towards it)
  • Demonstrable experience of HR Generalist work in the UK
  • Clear communicator in written and spoken English, confident at presenting and experienced at having difficult conversations on sensitive subjects
  • Someone who keeps up to date with changes in UK Employment law and best practices,
  • Hands on experience of owning employee relations cases including redundancy consultation processes, protected conversations, capability and performance and disciplinary cases
  • Strong customer service skills – all colleagues and managers are our customers
  • Friendly, approachable and empathetic with good listening skills and ability to be a trusted advisor to first line managers
  • Team player able to build strong relationships across boundaries
  • Good attention to detail and ability to check the work of others
  • Ability to mentor and help assist the personal development of other team members

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Consult and advise on UK employee relations issues, actively leading on discipline, grievances, performance, absence management and redundancies as required
  • Involvement in processes related to immigration and right to work
  • Working closely with managers and colleagues to provide support and guidance on HR issues, global HR processes and changes to employment legislation, including delivering information sessions, creating template letters, emails and other communications
  • Assisting with culture transformation including active promotion of One RWS by having a visible presence in the office and regularly speaking to colleagues and managers
  • Supporting CSR activity and site leader events – helping develop ideas on colleague engagement
  • Offer ’open door’ and provide advice to employees on work related issues with empathy and professionalism
  • Build a strong relationship with the internal functions including Payroll, Finance and IT working in conjunction with regional and Divisional HR and HR centres of excellence
  • Work with benefits providers in the UK and Ireland on benefits renewals and other benefit related items
  • Help maintain data in the HRIS system including helping with the transition to D365
  • Support other ad-hoc projects in the UK and Ireland
