Description:

As the HR Generalist in Canada, you will play a pivotal role in managing the daily operations of the Human Resources department within our Canadian region. You will participate in a wide range of HR activities, such as onboarding and training, performance management, employee relations, recruitment, and HR administration. You will work closely with the HR Business Partner (HRBP), the North American HR Director and the URUS HR Shared Service Center (SSC. You will have the opportunity to liaise with the URUS Centers of Excellence (CoEs) to leverage services, frameworks, and guidance on Talent Acquisition, Training, and Talent Development. You will help to ensure execution and accountability to these practices are adhered to in their company and to help cover any gaps in those services within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR best practices, labor laws in Canada, and a passion for fostering a positive work environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 7+ years of related HR experience
  • Ability to travel approximately 25%
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and Canadian employment laws
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; work experience in lieu of will be considered
  • CHPR certification preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English) highly advantageous
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with HRIS, payroll systems, LMS systems, Microsoft Office Suite (ADP and Oracle preferred)

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate new employee onboarding processes, including orientation, tours, connections, and integration into the company culture
  • Serve as company-specific point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries, concerns, and grievances for Canada
  • Support annual employee engagement surveys and performance management review process
  • Assist and support with Canadian recruitment efforts
  • Promote and role model diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Assists in coordinating employee events and recognition programs
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify training and development needs and to support career development plans
  • Communicate training opportunities and support enrollments and accountability for participation
  • Accurate and timely communication of employee records, including new hires, status changes, and terminations
  • Generate HR reports and analytics
