POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are excited to announce that we are hiring for the newly created role of Human Resources Generalist at Barbecues Galore. As our first HR team member, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing HR strategies, processes, and systems that align with our company’s goals and values. You will be responsible for driving employee engagement, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture, and ensuring the organization attracts, develops, and retains top talent.

QUALIFICATIONS:
· A minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources.
· Proven experience in creating HR systems, policies, and processes from scratch is a plus.
· Knowledge of Canadian labour laws, employment standards, and HR best practices.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
· HR certification (CHRP, CHRL, etc.) is highly desirable.
· Proficiency in HR software and tools.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to take own initiative and to work strategically
· Ability to coach and apply appropriate developmental tool for each individual
· Experience with preparing and administrating progressive discipline process and performance management as well as succession planning
Responsibilities:
- HR Strategy & Development: Establish HR policies and procedures that align with company culture, industry best practices, and legal requirements.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Lead talent acquisition efforts, manage job postings, interview processes, and guide new hires through a seamless onboarding experience.
- Employee Relations: Act as a trusted advisor to employees and leadership, addressing workplace concerns, conflicts, and opportunities for improvement.
- Performance Management: Develop and oversee performance management programs, including performance reviews, goal-setting, and career development initiatives.
- Policies: Developing and updating company employment policies and other workplace policies.
- Compensation & Benefits: Manage employee compensation structures, benefits programs, and ensure competitive offerings to attract and retain talent.
- Compliance & Legal: Ensure the company’s HR policies and practices and health & Safety programs are compliant with Canadian labour laws and industry regulations.
- Training & Development: Identify training needs and implement programs to enhance employee skills, leadership development, and succession planning.
- Workplace Culture: Foster a positive work environment by promoting employee engagement and supporting diversity and inclusion initiatives.
