HR GENERALIST - BILINGUAL - HUMAN RESOURCES

We are currently looking for a HR Generalist to join our growing Human Resources Department.
HH Angus was founded in 1919 and today we are one of Canada’s largest private engineering firms. The HR Generalist will be reporting directly to the HR Director

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provides day-to-day people-management support, guidance, and information for leaders on a variety of issues including progressive discipline, coaching, career development, performance management and terminations.
  • Acts as a resource for employees, responding to their HR questions. First line of contact for employees who may have work or personal-related questions or concerns. Manages and resolves employee relations issues.
  • Meets with client group leaders on a regular basis to identify tactical and operational needs and identify solutions.
  • Executes and maintains HR Programs.
  • Assists in the design and development of company HR programs, initiatives, communications, and events. May lead projects, with oversight.
  • Delivers training programs; assists in the design of training programs and drafts materials.
  • Coordinates leaves of absence including STDs and LTDs.
  • Participates in the development and administration of Health and Safety Programs
  • Maintains HR manuals and drafts policies and procedures as requested.
  • Creates role profiles for new positions with oversight from more senior HR colleagues.
  • Assists HR leader(s) with special projects as requested. Performs back-up and/or assists other team members as requested.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant employment legislation in geographies supported as well as emerging trends in HR and conducts research where required.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • University degree in HR, related field
  • CHRP Designation required, CHRL an asset
  • Bilingual – French and English
  • 5+ years progressive HR experience.
  • Excellent client relationship management skills. Able to partner and work effectively with employees and leaders at all levels.
  • Solid knowledge & experience in a variety of talent management areas.
  • Proven coaching and influencing skills. Good conflict resolution skills.
  • Able to work through complex problems and manage ambiguity.
  • Strong initiative and solid judgment.
  • A working knowledge of all relevant employment legislation.
  • A high level of integrity, discretion, and credibility.
