THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a well-rounded, developing HR professional to join our team! The HR Generalist will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day partnership, deliverables, and HR initiatives with LD Human Resources clients. The successful candidate will be well versed in current laws and regulations, technically savvy and possess strong initiative, collaboration, time-management, and administrative skills. This is a great opportunity for someone who is creative, can think outside the box, is resourceful and solution oriented.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Post-secondary degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent
- 3-5 years’ experience working in HR (preferably with previous HR Generalist level experience)
- A high level of initiative with a “can-do” attitude and a solution focused approach
- Excellent interpersonal, customer-oriented skills and cultural awareness
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong team player and collaborative abilities, demonstrating flexibility in approaches
- Excellent organizational, time management and multitasking skills
- A track record of exercising professionalism and confidentiality at all times
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Travel to clients within York Region, GTA and surrounding areas required
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing work environment
Responsibilities:
- Partnering with client and providing professional-level human resources support and carrying out responsibilities in one or more functional areas, such as: Compliance, Health & Safety, HR Policy Development, Total Rewards & Benefits, Training & Development, Recruitment & Selection, Organizational Effectiveness, Performance Management, Succession Planning, Leadership Coaching
- Responsible for full-cycle recruitment and talent acquisition, such as postings, job descriptions, resume review, phone screens, interviews, reference/background checks and offer letters
- Developing, delivering and administering onboarding programs for new hires
- Developing, evaluating and maintaining HR Policies and Procedures including recommendations that align with best practices, client initiatives, and changes to legislation
- Partnering with clients to provide effective HR advisory services to employees such as absence management, leaves of absence, conduct and capability, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters
- Participating in disciplinary and termination meetings
- Preparing all required HR correspondence such as offer letter, promotions, terminations, documents and communications
- Supporting development and execution of HR programs
- Providing support with mid-year and annual Performance Management Programs such as creating presentations, templates, and timelines
- Supporting client training requirements and facilitating training as needed
- Providing creative and innovative ideas, energy and insights that help us deliver world class people experiences
- Other internal and client HR related tasks, projects and duties as required
