SUMMARY
The HR Generalist will report directly to the HR Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to provide guidance to employees and managers on employee relations, recruitment, performance management, workplace investigations, and HR policies and programs.

The Keno Hill mine, located within the Keno Hill Silver District in Canada’s Yukon Territory. Keno Hill, is one of the highest-grade silver districts in the world, is situated 350 kilometres north of Whitehorse, and lies within the traditional territory of the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyak Dun. It comprises 242 square kilometres (km2) with numerous mineral deposits and more than 35 historical past-producing mine sites. Keno Hill is expected to produce 2.7-3.0 million ounces of silver in 2024 as the mine ramps up production.
The mine is owned and operated by Hecla Mining Company, headquartered in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Established in 1891, Hecla has a rich history as a distinguished and respected precious metals producer. QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
- Minimum of 5+ years of Human Resources advising experience
- Diploma or degree in Administration, Human Resources or Business
- CPHR qualification would be an asset
- Experience working at a remote mine site operation and in a cross-cultural work environment.
- Knowledge of provincial and territorial employment legislations
- Excellent judgment and ability to make recommendations that balance the needs of employees as well as the company
- Ability to manage multiple competing and important priorities quickly, and effectively communicate back to other stakeholders and business leaders
- A strong sense of integrity and impeccable professional maturity is key
- Apply excellent interpersonal skills both in one-on-one situations with all levels of personnel, and in facilitating group meetings and keeping them on track
- Seasoned judgment to suggest people approaches that optimize the business
- Ability to develop and foster strong working relationships with site leaders and personnel
- Excellent technical skills and in-depth knowledge of applicant tracking technology and HRIS systems

Responsibilities:
HERE’S WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT IN THIS ROLE:
- Provide guidance to employees and managers on employee relations, recruitment, performance management, workplace investigations, and HR policies and programs
- Partner with on site leadership to support the business with people related initiatives
- Provide recommendations to enhance and streamline HR processes and procedures
- Ensure compliance with all Provincial and Federal employment legislations
- Manage onboarding/offboarding employees at site and coordinating with other site departments
- Support leaders with performance management including terminations
- Creation and maintenance of job descriptions for all appropriate positions and develop competency tools for evaluation
- Ensure required communication of policies to staff, inclusive of appropriate documentation
- Process HR related employee changes (new hires, terminations, leaves of absence, promotions, transfers,)
- Coordinate, analyze and prepare a variety of HR related reports and statistics
- Assist in the coordination of all site wide employee events and communication
- Assist in all camp administration including addressing concerns or issue in camp
- Serve as a general resource and point of contact for payroll, benefit, travel related
- Identify opportunities to create efficiencies in a small and fast paced environment
- Assisting in special projects supporting HR priorities and business initiatives.
- Perform Human Resources administrative tasks as required
- Other duties may be assigned from time to time as required by the Company.

- Ensuring that plant and equipment operate within their safe working limits.
- Ensuring that correct equipment is used for the job.
- Participating in risk assessment methodology.
- Participating in safety initiatives.
- Receiving training and instruction as required.
- Maintaining good housekeeping standards
