JOB DESCRIPTION

The Human Resource Generalist will assist with the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including onboarding new hires, review and track document compliance, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • At least one year of human resource management experience preferred.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certifications highly preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Co-labor with general managers to draft and maintain job descriptions to be used in the recruitment process.
  • Perform background checks and share flagged results with HR management for counsel on next steps. Follow-up with managers regarding post-offer progress and employee start date.
  • Enter new hire information into HRIS to alert IT and payroll of new employee.
  • Oversee onboarding process and I-9 verification, gather and process paperwork.
  • Provide employees with a sense of organizational normsboth formal and informal.
  • Provide backup to Payroll Specialist in processing of bi-weekly payroll for all brands and completing post-payroll reports.
  • Assist with compensation and benefits planning and administration including coordination of annual enrollment, changes in coverage and reconciliation with benefits providers.
  • Coordinate COBRA and other benefits for terminated employees.
  • Coordinate benefits and employee benefits elections with third party administrators and providers and resolve benefits issues.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programsincluding but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned, which may become essential to the position.
