OVERVIEW

We are looking for a HR Generalist to join our team in Surrey, BC.. The HR Generalist will work closely with the Payroll & Benefits Administrator and together they will play a crucial role supporting all of Mainland Group’s operations. The HR Generalist is responsible for various HR functions including recruitment, policies and procedures compliance, employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, systems administration, as well as manager support.

RECRUITMENT, ONBOARDING + OFFBOARDING

  • Collaborate with department managers and supervisors on hiring needs and job descriptions.
  • Recruit and hire hourly and salary staff supporting the hiring managers through the recruitment process.
  • Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new-hire orientations, and exit interviews.
  • Be responsible for the organization and maintenance of personnel records, including but not limited to the creation of new employee files, upkeeping of existing employee records, and the processing of terminated employees.

COMPETENCIES & REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of related experience in HR including high volume field recruitment and selection
  • Post-secondary education or diploma in Human Resources or related education
  • Prior experience in payroll considered an asset (not essential)
  • Working towards CPHR designation considered an asset
  • Ability to work independently, multitask and prioritize assignments
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with leaders and collaborate across all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of recruitment and selection tools and strategies
  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills, ability to adapt to different personalities, conflict resolution skills, and cultural awareness
  • Experience with preparation and delivering HR related presentations
  • Proficient MS Office Skills (Office 365, Word, Excel, Outlook)
